It’s been a week of big climbs in the WMR 100, as two songs that were not in the top 10 last week have stormed into this week’s top two. Alessandra soars up sixteen places from #18 to claim this week’s silver medal spot with Queen of Kings, the song with which the Italian-born performer will be flying Norway’s flag this may at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool; while Carly Rae Jepsen, after just missing the top ten last week landing at #11, closes the distance that separated her from the top of the list and becomes the second Canadian act to claim the WMR 100 #1 with her song Surrender My Heart. Dethroned champion Lost Frequencies rounds out the podium, falling to #3 with Back to You.

The triple threat of Lost Frequencies, Elley Duhé and X Ambassadors lays claim to this week’s WMR 100 #1 with their track Back to You, climbing up from the #9 spot in which they debuted in the inaugural chart last week. Blanca Paloma and Danna Paola also shoot up into the podium, taking respectively the 2nd and 3rd places, knocking last weeks #1, La Zarra, down to #4.

After a careful selection process, we have made our picks for the first-ever weekly WMR 100 list out our favorite tracks in the world. We have spent days going over songs from across the globe, and we can now announce Québec-born and soon-to-be French Eurovision representative La Zarra as our very first top pick. And it is the song that she will be performing in Liverpool, Évidemment (“Obviously”), that has been crowned as the first ever number 1 song in the WMR 100, seeing off rough competition from Australia’s Vera Blue and Italy’s Måneskin, themselves former Eurovision champions in their own right.
