Neea River soars ‘All the Way’ to WMR 100 #1, leading Finnish 1-2

A northern invasion is upon us in this week’s WMR 100, as two Finnish artists with different styles seize the list’s #1 and #2 places, marking the first time in the history of the WMR 100 that two acts from the same nation have held the top two spots of the rank. On #2, on the heels of finishing runner-up at the Eurovision Song Contest two weeks ago and storming straight into the top 20 of the list last week, Käärijä Cha Cha Cha‘s his way up to the silver medal place with his one-of-a-kind combination of metal, electronic and pop music. However, he is blocked from the top spot by Neea River, who has been steadily rising up the ranks of the WMR 100 these past few weeks, and culminates her ascent claiming #1 with her debut single, All the Way. The newcomer shows plenty of potential in this first release.

A week full of fresh faces

This week is also marked by the WMR 100 debuts of several acts, as ten new songs enter the list and most of them involve performers entirely new to it. These newcomers are Sheldon Riley (#100), Kasia Moś (#98), Nicky Romero, Jonas Blue & Nico Santos (debuting together at #96), Diljá (#92), Idina Menzel (#90), Monika Linkytė (#87), Yves V & Paradigm (together at #84), Zara Larsson (#75) and Kelly Clarkson (#66). None of them, however, gets to have the hottest new entry of the week: that would be Dotter, who comes in straight into #31 with No Room for Love, and joins the Double Feature Club, as her collaboration with Sick Individuals, You, is currently at #34, its best placing to date.
